Dr. Shuxian Jin is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, Peking University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (Capital University of Economics and Business, China), and a master’s degree in Applied Psychology (Nankai University, China). She received her PhD in Social Psychology from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (the Netherlands) in 2023. She worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sussex (UK) from 2022 and 2026. She joined the Department of Managerial and Social Psychology at Peking University in March 2026.

Her research interests concern how different cultural settings, socio-ecological conditions, and patterns of interdependence (e.g., conflict of interests) shape cooperation, social norms and institutional preferences, and how institutional solutions can foster cooperation. She applies meta-analysis, online and lab-based behavioral experiments, and cross-societal surveys to test theories of cooperation.

Dr. Jin’s lab invites applications for Postdoctoral and PhD positions from candidates interested in social decision-making and cross-cultural psychology. Prospective applicants are welcome to contact Dr. Jin for further information.
